Christmas Kisses {Hugs if you want to get technical}

by SimplySharpe on December 20, 2012

I’m trying to finish strong for “Wife of the Year,” and that means making Christmas treats for the hubby to take to work! I happily selflessly devoted several hours of my time to searching Pinterest for the perfect (read: easy to make, yet festive) treats. I found the idea forĀ these:

I loved everything about these salty and sweet treats! The hardest part was finding Hershey’s Hugs to make them. I don’t know if everyone is making the same treats this year, but I had to go to four different stores before I found a bag of Hugs. How crazy is that?!

Here is what you will need if you want to make these:

– One bag square pretzels

– One bag of Hershey’s Hugs (plain Kisses don’t melt as well, I did the homework on this!)

– One bag of Christmas M&M’s (unless you want to sort the red and green ones from other bags — I didn’t!)

– Parchment paper

Cooking instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 200 (I used 180 because my oven runs hot)

2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper

3. Place pretzels in rows on cookie sheet (I made 10 rows of 6, but just because I got bored of opening Hugs. You could definitely make more or less.)

4. Put a Hug on each pretzel

5. Bake for 4-5 minutes in the oven

6. Remove carefully from oven, take red and green M&Ms and gently place on top of each treat pushing down slightly, alternating colors (I prefer M&M side down)

7. Put them in the refrigerator to cool for 5-10 minutes

8. Take them out and enjoy! Store in an airtight container.

What are some of your favorite, easy treat recipes?
